Black Fathead Minnows (Pimephales promelas) also known as tuffies or blackhead minnows a variety of minnow used primarily as a feeder fish providing a healthy food source to feed other aquatic pets. We have both a small (0.5"to 1.5") minnow which is great as feeders and then a larger 1.5-2.5" minnow that is better as bait. Minnows are omnivores and mainly eat zooplankton and phytoplankton, but will eat all types of small dried and live food. Fathead minnows are fractional spawners and spawn throughout the spring and summer once the temperatures are about 65 degrees. Their high reproduction rate make them an excellent stocking choice as forge fish or bait for crappie, perch, bluegill or bass.
If we are out of a certain size of black fathead minnow be sure to see if we do have our rosie red minnows in stock as they are just a pink version of a fathead minnow.

Fish Feeding
Goldfish can eat many different types of fish flakes or pellets. We suggest goldfish smaller than 4" in size are fed flake fish food or mini pellet floating food. Goldfish larger than 4" can have either the mini pellets or larger 5mm pellets. Be careful to follow feeding instructions as overfeeding your fish can be harmful for your fish.
It is common for fish to by shy or stand offish upon arrival. It can take them some time to adapt to their new environment and learn to come up and feed.

Had about 150-200 minnows die.. could be because the driver didn’t deliver them on time.. I would say there is a strict time limit for them making it.. however I guess some will die but didn’t really like that many dying.. other than that ok I guess
The fish arrived shortly after I ordered them. I think there may have been ONE fish that didn't make it. Highly impressed! Will order again.
Ordered 500 minnoes received and climatized for 3 hours. 8 hours from receiving 80% of fish were dead. I sent an email with no response. $125 dollars wasted. I do not recommend purchase.
Shipping is quick and timed to a 4 hr window. I ordered 1000 minnows and only 1 fish was dead on arrival.
Easy to order, good price, arrived next day and only a few casualties.
I ordered 2 sizes of the fat head minnows. When I received them the small ones were dead. The larger ones were good. I told them and showed a picture and they emediately replaced them. The 2nd batch were all alive. It was August and I was the last stop.
4 dead out of 1000. Very happy with the whole process. I will be ordering more.
Fish were in good shape
Great experience. They arrived on time and all alive.
The 150 Fathead minnows arrived with no issues. Only several of them didn't make the trip which is understandable.
The minnows arrived on time and healthy. They were kept cool and well protected
The fish were very active and ready to hit the pond when they arrived. Appreciate the help.
Had a FedEx issue with the first shipment and a second shipment was sent immediately and it was great.
Nice minnows!
All minnows arrived alive and well. Shipping was very fast. Very happy with my order and will continue to order fish from Toledo goldfish.
About 50 didn’t make the trip. No big deal, it’s warm in AZ, even at 5000’. I did just order some more.
Minnows came with minimal loss. However, I felt 80 percent of the Minnows were closer to to the 1.5 inch vs 2.5 inches. I have ordered several times, and the catfish were perfect, as described.
The UPS delivery was one day later than it was expected. Therefore, about a quarter of the minnows were dead. It wasn't as bad as the bluegill of which over 80% were dead on arrival. Fortunately Toledo Goldfish promptly returned my money for the bluegills.
Good quality. All arrived alive and well.
Excellent!
They were living and still eating and doing fine but we're not as large as I think i ordered very small
No where near 1000 minnows in the bag.
They were great to deal with!
Much smaller than expected. Juveniles, not adults
i’m very happy all of them came alive. A+ cross the board.
All arrived alive and looked healthy. In the pond now.
Easy hastle free purchase. Fast shipping and delivery. Perfect transaction
schooling in the pond
My fishies were well packaged and every single one of them was alive and active and healthy looking when I opened up the box.
