Rosie Red Minnows (Pimephales promelas) are a pink variety of fathead minnow used primarily as a feeder fish providing a healthy food source to feed other aquatic pets. As their name suggests, they are light pink in color. We have both a small (0.5"to 1.5") minnow which is great as feeders and then a larger 1.5-2.5" minnow that is better as bait.
Minnows are omnivores and mainly eat zooplankton and phytoplankton, but will eat all types of small dried and live food. Fathead minnows are fractional spawners and spawn throughout the spring and summer once the temperatures are about 65 degrees. Their high reproduction rate make them an excellent stocking choice for forage fish or bait for crappie, bass, or bluegill.
If we are out of a certain size of rosie red minnow be sure to check our black fathead minnows in stock as they are just a black version of a fathead minnow.
Pictures shown are a good representation of our minnows, but not the exact ones you will receive.
RESTRICTIONS: Minnows are restricted from being shipped into WA. It is the buyers responsibility to check all local and state regulations and restrictions.

Fish Feeding
Goldfish can eat many different types of fish flakes or pellets. We suggest goldfish smaller than 4" in size are fed flake fish food or mini pellet floating food. Goldfish larger than 4" can have either the mini pellets or larger 5mm pellets. Be careful to follow feeding instructions as overfeeding your fish can be harmful for your fish.
It is common for fish to by shy or stand offish upon arrival. It can take them some time to adapt to their new environment and learn to come up and feed.

I ordered 150 minnows. They arrived timely, however, when I opened the shipping box there was no way that there was 150 in the bag. Also I had at least 10 dead and maybe another 10 or so that were dying and there was not a lot of water in the bag - didn't seem like it was leaking and I understand that the bag is filled with oxygen for transport but again the amount of water was very little and maybe that had something to do with the dead/dying fish.
The ones that were alive are now thriving in my pond so I'm happy for the most part, just wish I got my money's worth
My order arrived quickly and damage free. I think that there was maybe 1 fish that didn't make it.
Dammed up a small creek and put these in. So fun to watch. Actually have some native minnows integrating into the groups. Not very many dead. Really happy with them
I'm delighted with these Rosie Red minnows and the overall transaction. I have no idea why it took me so long to figure out my koi pond would look great with a large school of Rosie's. I used to get goldfish when I was a kid from this business when it was known as Grassy forks and I'm delighted it's even better than I remember. Great job, packaging, shipping, and customer service. Awesome.
I ordered 200, caught a nice sale. Not one dead fish, all still swimming and loving the pond. Love watching them school together.
When first added to the pond, loved the waterfall.
Great healthy fish and great shipping.
I had prior issues with deaths due to the delivery (totally ups fault for actually delivering overnight due to living in a rural area ) I reached out to Toledo and we coordinated shipping due to the extreme heat we had and they switched to FedEx overnight delivery for me and I’m happy to report only a handful where doa . They always add many extras to accommodate for them . I have and always will support Toledo goldfish .
All arrived in good shape
Very healthy fish arrived. Only 2 dead in transit, so I was very happy with this order! I would definitely purchase again! Very well packaged.
A third of the order was missing. We received 373 with 11 dead on an order of 500
Thanks Toledo, we love our Redheads..they seem very happy in the pond. The Koi watch them as if they were put there for their amusement 🙃
Is it possible they are smart? They navigate up and down the stream at will..then dash back to the safety of their netted private pool...they pass in and out of the net 👍😊
Ordering was fast and easy. All minnows arrived alive and well. Very happy with my order. Will be ordering more in the future
Smaller than I expected. They were juveniles, not adults. Won’t last long in my pond because they are so small and skinny. Small enough for my bluegill to eat. 99% arrived alive. Only a handful were dead.
I use these for Crappie fishing. Almost 2 weeks have passed since they arrived and all the remaining minnows are still alive and healthy. Couldn't be happier. Will definitely be ordering again
Easy to deal with.
Food for my gar
arrived in good health. only a few dead. but total is way overcounted.
Great packaging, prompt delivery and no deaths. Customer service a dream to work with.
I love these in my koi pond.
You guys have a great supper tem customer service however the fish arrived in bad shape , seems as they were gasping for air. The bag wasn’t inflated much. Most of them died but I don’t wanna keep complaining because you guys already replaced some other order.
I received same order form difffernt company but white not Rosie minnows and two of them were dead in two bags.
Thai morning all red ones were dead.
I’m gona freeze them and then feed my reptiles so I hope that will be still ok
Fast shipping, our bass loved them
All good
Always packaged nicely, shipped overnight, and arrive in perfect condition. Thank you for the great care you take in shipping, customer service and overall great condition of the fish upon arrival.
This was my first time ordering from this company. All fish arrived alive and well. Would definitely buy from them again.
Everything went good as possible
Arrived healthy and all alive. So much better quality than the pet store.
I have tried 2 orders of the Rosie Red fat head minnows and had bad results. I am not sure why as the comet goldfish I order seem to do well. There have been excessive Rosie Red Minnows dead on arrival and the rest seem to die slowly over a few months. The comet goldfish have almost no DOA and are thriving. I am not sure why, I. notified Toledo about the last order, included the picture below but never heard back. They are always very nice but and usually helpful but maybe they are having trouble with the Rosie Red Minnows? I thought I should let others know.
Toledo Goldfish is the one and only company I stock my ponds with. I stocked my Colorado pond with their fish and my Ohio pond with their fish. The very healthiest animals you could possibly get. Always vigorous and immaculate, every single order. There’s always a couple extras too. These snails were no exception. Healthy, plump, energetic, vivid colors. There were quite a few DOA but that’s to be expected with minnows in bulk. Overall, excellent as always!
Very few minnows not alive & most were very lively.
