Rosie Red Minnows  (Pimephales promelas) are a pink variety of fathead minnow used primarily as a feeder fish providing a healthy food source to feed other aquatic pets. As their name suggests, they are light pink in color. We have both a small (0.5"to 1.5") minnow which is great as feeders and then a larger 1.5-2.5" minnow that is better as bait.

If we are out of a certain size of rosie red minnow be sure to see if we do have our black fathead minnows in stock as they are just a black version of a fathead minnow.

Pictures shown are a good representation of our minnows, but not the exact ones you will receive.

RESTRICTIONS: Minnows are restricted from being shipped into WA. It is the buyers responsibility to check all local and state regulations and restrictions.

Product Info

Rosie Red Minnows  (Pimephales promelas) are a pink variety of fathead minnow used primarily as a feeder fish providing a healthy food source to feed other aquatic pets. As their name suggests, they are light pink in color. Rosies are usually .5 to 3 inches in size. They are also a great addition to goldfish aquariums, tanks, and garden or koi ponds, as they swim in schools and create a nice movement in the water. Minnows are omnivores and mainly eat zooplankton and phytoplankton, but will eat all types of small dried and live food. Fathead minnows are fractional spawners and spawn throughout the spring and summer once the temperatures are about 65 degrees. Their high reproduction rate make them an excellent stocking choice.

Almost all were dead

When we received the minnows, they were almost all dead. Complained and received “extra” in the next shipment. They, too, almost all died in a very short manner. Even though the other batch of different minnows were fine. Only a handful were dead, which is to be expected. Also note to anyone else ORDERING minnow online - it is now known to us that it is ILLEGAL to have minnows shipped into the state of ND.

250 red farhead

All the minutes were alive and healthy when they arrived. Which is surprising because the company who done the shipping showed up a lot later than they were expected to show you just how healthy these fish really are
