Fish Feeding

Goldfish can eat many different types of fish flakes or pellets. We suggest goldfish smaller than 4" in size are fed flake fish food or mini pellet floating food. Goldfish larger than 4" can have either the mini pellets or larger 5mm pellets.  Be careful to follow feeding instructions as overfeeding your fish can be harmful for your fish.

It is common for fish to by shy or stand offish upon arrival. It can take them some time to adapt to their new environment and learn to come up and feed.

Lost several in this batch.

I’ve ordered several times. The bluegill I ordered are great and I only lost one out of 50. Unfortunately the batch of 50 green sunfish I’ve lost 11 out of the 50 in the first three days.

Green sunfish

I’m happy with the size of fish that was shipped and I believe the initial health of the fish was good. I believe the issue with my particular fish was with shipping. As I stated in an email, the inner bag that the fish were shipped in had lost all air and the ice pack had rolled up with that bag and restricted some fish from being able to move. 1 fish was dead on arrival. The following evening half the fish had died. My pond temp is 58° all water tested within normal range. My pond is 40’x90’ 4.5’deep. Other fish include goldfish 1year old and fathead minnows of all life stages. The minnows I received from you last summer all very healthy. I believe the situation with shipping is what caused the issue with my shipment. I also believe that the way the delivery driver was rotating the package was part of the problem. I will be ordering fish from Toledo goldfish again.
