Shubunkin goldfish are calico blue in color and are members of the goldfish family. Shubunkins have slender bodies and straight tail fins. They range in size from 1.5 inches to 12 inches. No two shubunkins are patterned the same, with each fish having its own unique look. They do well in aquariums and ponds. We do have goldfish combos with multiple types of goldfish here. Please note the pictures shown above are a good representation of our fish, but not the exact fish you will receive.
Goldfish growth rates are based on food, space, water quality and surrounding environment. Goldfish are omnivores and will eat all types of dried and live food, but basic fish flakes or pellet food will provide the proper diet. Goldfish can have many different fish flakes or pellets. We suggest goldfish smaller than 4" in size are fed flake fish food or mini pellet floating food. Goldfish larger than 4" can have either the mini pellets or larger 5mm pellets.

About our Goldfish
Goldfish Description
Goldfish include a range of straight tailed and fantailed types of fish including orange common or comet goldfish, red and white Sarasa, blue shubunkin, and red or calico fantail goldfish. Goldfish do well in aquariums, tanks or ponds and can be mixed with most other goldfish and koi. Fantailed goldfish are better suited for aquariums or tanks and only paired with other slower moving goldfish. Goldfish growth rates are based on food, space, water quality and surrounding environment. They range in size from .75 inch to 12 inches. Goldfish are omnivores and will eat all types of dried and live food, but basic fish flakes or pellet food will provide the proper diet.
The comet goldfish, also commonly known as a common or pond comet, is the most well-known variety of goldfish. They have orange or red scales with a long, slender body and a straight tail. While most common goldfish are orange or red in color, they can also be solid black or white, or have black and white patterns on an orange body.
Sarasa goldfish are red and white comet goldfish, usually with longer finnage.
Shubunkin goldfish are calico blue in color and no two shubunkins are patterned the same, with each fish having its own unique look.
Fantail goldfish have a split or butterfly fanned tail. They are usually more round and shorter bodied. Fantails can be a range of color from orange, blue, red and black, or red and white.

Fish Feeding
Goldfish can eat many different types of fish flakes or pellets. We suggest goldfish smaller than 4" in size are fed flake fish food or mini pellet floating food. Goldfish larger than 4" can have either the mini pellets or larger 5mm pellets. Be careful to follow feeding instructions as overfeeding your fish can be harmful for your fish.
It is common for fish to by shy or stand offish upon arrival. It can take them some time to adapt to their new environment and learn to come up and feed.

Really nice packaging for fish transport. Everyone arrived alive and healthy. Acclimated well.
They are wonderful! They all arrived alive and healthy. They are still alive and living their best life!
I ordered 5 and they shipped 6 in case one doesn’t make it. They were all as advertised and healthy. It’s been a week and all 6 are doing well.
Brand new to the site. I did not pay attention to the time zone change and I was rude asking for a response after they had closed. Staff called back and was SUPER nice, helpful and my goldfish arrived safe and in good condition a few extras and all lived and are doing great in the greenhouse pond. Thank you for being nice in a moment when I was not. Great place to buy from. Thank you.
I ordered 10 Shubunkin goldfish, they all arrived healthy and beautiful the next day. Got 4 extra for free. Highly recommended.
I received my shipment in a well packaged box with the fish alive and well. This is my fourth order and I’m very happy with the price and process. When I have needed customer service they have been very responsive. I would recommend Toledo Goldfish to anyone needing great pond fish and will continue to use them in the future. We live in the mountains of Northern New Mexico with two 12,000+ gallon ponds which freeze over in the winter and get a lot of Summertime sun. We do have active aeration and filtering and have had good success keeping our Koi and Goldfish year around. The fish are a highlight in our ponds.
I have always ordered all my fish from Toledo Goldfish. They arrive healthy, fast delivery and lots of varied color. I recommend them to everyone. Great company and quality.
I lost a lot of fish due to northern water snakes. Had an invasion , captured over 30 plus of them in the last few years.
A friend told me about toledo gold fish. She had ordered and received a beautiful batch of fish.
I decided to order some, add them to my remaining fish.
No way to guarantee them.
I order 25 sasarra, 25 shubunkins, all arrived in great shape. No floaters, no disease passed on to the others.
Beautiful, a lot of various colors. I am thrilled!
Ordered 25, and they all lived! Are doing great in my new pond. Love to watch them!
My baby Shubunkins are absolutely beautiful, they arrived healthy and have brought me so much joy from day one. I highly recommend Toledo Goldfish.
The goldfish arrived healthy and happy. All seven of them. Ordered 5. Delivery was timely. The only thing I would say is I was a bit disappointed with the color variety. While I did request more blues, I still was expected a bit more of a colorful fish. More reds with the blues. All seven pretty much looked the same. However, I would definitely order more in the future.
I placed my order on a Sunday night, and received it at 10:30 Tuesday morning. I had ordered 10 fish, and received 12 alive and healthy. All 12, very nicely colored, were released into my pond and seem to be doing well. I would definitely order again.
My Shubunkin Goldfish arrived quickly and in perfect condition. I requested some with blue on them and this company went out of the their way to send them. They are extremely healthy and happy. No stress. My beautiful fish was shipped with great care and plenty of TLC. My most trusted shop for beyond healthy fish!
Always happy beautiful fish from Toledo, arrived in great shape and beautiful fish.
Great people, answered all of my questions. First time to order fish on-line. Will order from Toledo again. Fish that I ordered are doing and looking great. Thanks Toledo.
Arrived happy and healthy. Everything was well packaged. I wouldn’t hesitate to order from toledogoldfish again.
Beautiful colors and all were alive when they arrived, I ordered 5 and there were 7.
I will be recommending them!
I'll admit, my expectations were low. How could fish be shipped from another state and arrive in good condition? I ordered ten and honestly expected half to be dead. Nope, all were alive and active. Well written instructions guided me on how to transfer them safely to the pond, and within minutes of their release, all ten were active and enjoying their new habitat. Another thing... the largest Shebunkins I can typically find at our local pet shops are 2-3". I went with 4" on this order and that helps a lot with long-term survival in my pond.
Ordered 12 blue bunions, received 4 and the rest were mixed colors
When they arrived, one was dead and the rest barely alive
Not sure any survived
Beautiful, fun to watch.
The Shubunkins arrived in great condition especially considering how hot it has been here in Kansas!
All five are active and adapting well to their new environment.
Fish arrived right on time. They were securely packed and insulated from the hot weather. All are doing well in my pond.
