Where do our fish come from? At Toledo Goldfish, we take pride that all our fish and critters are all born and raised right here on our family fish farm in the United States.
In an industry where many fish are imported from overseas, ALL our fish are born and raised on our family farm in the US. This ensures better health, quality, and peace of mind for our customers. Our fish begin their lives on our family-owned farm, where they are carefully spawned, hatched, and raised with the highest standards of care.
Why does it matter that our fish are raised in the USA? Here are a few reasons:
🎏 Supporting a Family Fish Farm
When you purchase from Toledo Goldfish, you’re supporting a small, multi-generation American farm and the hardworking people behind it. Our team is dedicated to raising great fish and we’re proud to raise fish that reflect our values of integrity and care. Each fish is spawned and hatched by our production team and then raised in ponds. When the fish are the size and color we want them to be then we bring them into our shipping building to be sorted and processed for shipping. The shipping team then takes care to prep the fish for shipping and once you place your order, they hand select your fish. All orders are then packed with care for overnight delivery to your doorstep. Our family and team have been raising fish with more than 100 years of experience and do our very best to not only raise great fish but to get them to you in the best possible condition.
✅ Strict Biosecurity and Quality Standards
U.S.-based fish farms are subject to higher standards for biosecurity and animal welfare than many foreign suppliers. Along with our strong biosecurity measure directly on our farm, we work with USDA-APHIS to make sure our farm has the highest level of testing and biosecurity including regularly sending fish off to be health tested through a 3rd party. We monitor water quality, health protocols, and growth closely to make sure you receive a strong, vibrant fish every time.

Our first are shipped directly from our family fish farm to your door. This cuts out any extra long travel or drastic environmental changes. Getting your fish directly from the fish farm they were raised means they arrive at your door healthier and better suited for our North American water conditions. When you get your fish directly from the fish farm, you will have much more selection and options than going elsewhere. We are able to stock many more sizing and color options than your traditional pet stores or importers. We have lots of color combination options for both goldfish and koi as well as all possible sizes! We work hard to keep our listings in stock year round. When we do restock some of our most popular listings we send out an email blast to our Toledo Goldfish newsletter first. (Sign up for our newsletter on the bottom of our homepage!)
