Rosie Red Minnows  (Pimephales promelas) are a pink variety of fathead minnow used primarily as a feeder fish providing a healthy food source to feed other aquatic pets. As their name suggests, they are light pink in color. We have both a small (0.5"to 1.5") minnow which is great as feeders and then a larger 1.5-2.5" minnow that is better as bait.

If we are out of a certain size of rosie red minnow be sure to see if we do have our black fathead minnows in stock as they are just a black version of a fathead minnow.

Pictures shown are a good representation of our minnows, but not the exact ones you will receive.

RESTRICTIONS: Minnows are restricted from being shipped into WA. It is the buyers responsibility to check all local and state regulations and restrictions.

Product Info

Rosie Red Minnows  (Pimephales promelas) are a pink variety of fathead minnow used primarily as a feeder fish providing a healthy food source to feed other aquatic pets. As their name suggests, they are light pink in color. Rosies are usually .5 to 3 inches in size. They are also a great addition to goldfish aquariums, tanks, and garden or koi ponds, as they swim in schools and create a nice movement in the water. Minnows are omnivores and mainly eat zooplankton and phytoplankton, but will eat all types of small dried and live food. Fathead minnows are fractional spawners and spawn throughout the spring and summer once the temperatures are about 65 degrees. Their high reproduction rate make them an excellent stocking choice.

The only place to order from

Toledo Goldfish is the one and only company I stock my ponds with. I stocked my Colorado pond with their fish and my Ohio pond with their fish. The very healthiest animals you could possibly get. Always vigorous and immaculate, every single order. There’s always a couple extras too. These snails were no exception. Healthy, plump, energetic, vivid colors. There were quite a few DOA but that’s to be expected with minnows in bulk. Overall, excellent as always!

Outstanding!!!

I was in shock that unlike several other companies, Toledo Goldfish was able to ship my order of 25 bullfrog tadpoles THE NEXT DAY!! They arrived by UPS 48 hours after ordering, and all 25 (plus 1 extra?!?!) were healthy, swimming and delighted to find a new home in my water garden. I was also shocked at how large they were!! I'm so glad that I cancelled my order with another company that was more expensive and only promised delivery 2 weeks out. I've had multiple water gardens for many years, and as such have dealt with several companies. But I must say that this experience was perfect, and I look forward to giving more of my business to Toledo Goldfish!! (Note: I was NOT paid or given incentives for this glowing review!!!)

Great fish, great business

I'm delighted with these Rosie Red minnows and the overall transaction. I have no idea why it took me so long to figure out my koi pond would look great with a large school of Rosie's. I used to get goldfish when I was a kid from this business when it was known as Grassy forks and I'm delighted it's even better than I remember. Great job, packaging, shipping, and customer service. Awesome.
