Trapdoor Snails are freshwater snails that are tranquil, non-aggressive algae eaters. They will spend hours on end scouring your tank for uneaten food as well as other edible material. Trapdoor snails can take a bit of time to adjust to their new environment. They are slow moving and very cautious animals, so do not be alarmed if they are motionless over a period of time. Snails are very hardy and are recommended for beginners, because they require very little care. Our snails range in size depending on age, but will generally by 1-2 inches. It is not uncommon for a trapdoor snail to have some algae growth on its shell. Trapdoor snails have live offspring. Our snails are raised in outdoor mud ponds. They can be placed in indoor aquariums and do a great job cleaning your tank, however because they are raised in ponds their shells are a dark green brown color.

RESTRICTIONS: Trapdoor snails are restricted from being shipped into WI. Buyers are responsible for double checking local and state regulations before ordering live fish.

SHIPPING

Toledo Goldfish provides FREE SHIPPING on all goldfish, koi, crayfish, minnow, tadpole and snail orders. Shipping is also FREE on any fish food orders $25 or more. We process orders for arrival to your door Tuesday - Friday. We currently utilize FedEx and UPS. We cannot ship products to PO or APO addresses.

Orders placed by 10AM EST Monday - Thursday will ship same day, with orders being placed after the cut-off time shipping the next day. (Orders placed after 10AM EST on Thursdays will ship the following Monday.) 

Toledo Goldfish guarantee your snails will arrive to you in excellent condition or we will ship replacements or refund your purchase. With your order we provide step by step acclimation instructions to help insure a smooth transition for your snails. Please note: This item is a living being. We hope your aquatic creature lives a long, happy life! But there is always a chance its lifespan will end prematurely. Before you buy consider the possibility of disappointment about the lifespan. These are live animals and may not survive shipments in extreme heat or cold. We do package our shipments well, but please postpone your order if daytime temperatures in your area are below 45° or above 90°. DO NOT RELEASE AQUATIC CREATURES INTO THE WILD.
